About the Club
The Yukon Kennel Club is a non-profit organization with a mandate to offer training classes, workshops/seminars, and CKC sanctioned shows and trials in the Yukon. The purpose of the Yukon Kennel Club is to:
- promote responsible dog ownership throughout the Yukon Territory
- educate Yukoners in all aspects of dog ownership
- operate on a not-for-profit basis
- conduct dog shows including conformation, field trials, agility, obedience, and other sanctioned matches under the rules of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) or other recognized organizations
- advocate and lobby for appropriate canine-related community activities and legislations
- provide leadership and guidance to other organizations for the benefit of the dog community
- pursue fundraising to carry out the activities of the Club
- develop youth programs that promote sportsmanship, personal development, and a commitment to responsible dog ownership
- obtain community capital facilities and equipment for canine activities
- further the advancement of ethical breeding of purebred dogs and advocate for all dogs
